Darbhanga/Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar continues his “Samriddhi Yatra”, which began on 16 January 2026 from Bettiah in West Champaran, to review the state’s development initiatives and engage directly with the public. The first phase of the yatra, spanning eight days, covered nine districts, combining site inspections of development projects with review meetings and public interactions.

First Phase Highlights

During the first phase, the Chief Minister visited West Champaran, East Champaran, Sitamarhi, Sheohar, Gopalganj, Saran, and Siwan, inspecting ongoing projects and addressing public gatherings. He directly interacted with beneficiaries to understand the impact of government schemes. The yatra will complete its first phase with visits to Muzaffarpur on 23 January and Vaishali on 24 January.

Second Phase in Mithilanchal

The General Administration Department has released the schedule for the second phase, focusing on the Mithilanchal region from 27 to 29 January 2026:

  • 27 January: Review of development projects in Madhubani
  • 28 January: Inaugurations and foundation stone-laying ceremonies in Darbhanga
  • 29 January: Public interactions and site inspections in Samastipur

During these three days, the Chief Minister will address key local issues and prepare a new roadmap for regional development.

Emphasis on Quality and ‘Saat Nischay’

A major focus of the yatra is to monitor the progress of ambitious initiatives under the “Saat Nischay” scheme. Nitish Kumar is personally inspecting project quality and issuing strict instructions to officials for any lapses. The Samriddhi Yatra aims not only to solve citizen grievances on the spot but also to accelerate the pace of development, serving as a milestone in Bihar’s growth journey.
