RJD Set for Major Reshuffle? Tejashwi Yadav May Remove State President Mangani Lal Mandal

Patna: Political activity within Bihar’s Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) has intensified as party leader and Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav returns from an overseas trip. Sources indicate that Tejashwi is expected to hold a crucial review meeting with the state president and senior party leaders soon, focusing on organizational strategy and future political plans.

Organizational Review After Electoral Defeat
Following the party’s defeat in the recent Assembly elections, RJD has been conducting district- and block-level meetings to assess its performance. Reports suggest that during the elections, many district and block committees were not as active as expected. Additionally, over-reliance on external agencies rather than strengthening internal organization is believed to have contributed significantly to the electoral loss.

Why Mangani Lal Mandal’s Position Is Under Scrutiny
Post-election discussions have centered on the possible removal of RJD State President Mangani Lal Mandal. Party sources indicate two primary reasons for this:

  1. Failure to Transfer Vote Bank: Mandal was given charge just before the Assembly elections, with the expectation that he would consolidate the non-Yadav OBC vote bank for RJD. However, the election results fell short of these expectations.
  2. Organizational Weakness and Lack of Discipline: Several leaders believe Mandal failed to maintain the discipline that former president Jagdanand Singh upheld. His tenure saw a surge of rebels due to denied tickets, highlighting organizational looseness.

As RJD braces for potential internal changes, all eyes are now on the moves Tejashwi Yadav may take in the coming days. The party’s strategy and leadership structure could see significant shifts, signaling a new phase in Bihar’s political landscape.
