RJD MLA Bhai Virendra to Face Trial for Threatening Panchayat Secretary

Patna, Bihar: Troubles are mounting for Bhai Virendra, RJD MLA from Maner Assembly constituency, as he will now face trial in the MP-MLA Special Court for allegedly threatening and verbally abusing a Panchayat Secretary. The case, originally investigated under the SC/ST Act, has been transferred to the MP-MLA Court for further proceedings.

Controversial Phone Call
The incident stems from a phone conversation between Bhai Virendra and Panchayat Secretary Sandeep Kumar around July 2025. During the call, the MLA allegedly used abusive language, threatened physical harm, and referred to caste-based remarks. The Panchayat Secretary recorded portions of the conversation, in which Virendra repeatedly asserted his identity and issued threats, saying, “If you speak up, I will hit you with my shoe.”

Complaint and Legal Proceedings
Following the incident, the Panchayat Secretary filed a formal complaint at the SC/ST police station. Officer Priya Gupta verified the complaint, after which a chargesheet was filed against Bhai Virendra on 28 November under relevant sections of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 2023. The court will now hear the trial in the MP-MLA Special Court at Patna Civil Court.

Accusations Confirmed
The complaint against Bhai Virendra was found valid during preliminary investigations. Allegations include intimidation, caste-based abuse, and threats of physical assault toward the Panchayat Secretary. The case is expected to escalate the MLA’s legal troubles as the proceedings move forward.
