Rajnath Singh Receives Respectful Salute from Nitin Gadkari’s Grandchildren; Netizens Applaud Their Values

Nagpur: Union Minister Nitin Gadkari is often in the media spotlight for his political and administrative work, but this time, it was his grandchildren who captured public attention. During a recent visit of Defence Minister Rajnath Singh to Nagpur, Gadkari’s grandchildren offered him a Sashtang Pranam—a traditional eight-fold prostration that reflects complete respect and humility.

The meeting took place at Gadkari’s residence in Nagpur, the headquarters of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), India’s largest cultural organization, which emphasizes Hindu values and character building. The sight of Gadkari’s grandchildren performing the gesture of full reverence left Rajnath Singh visibly impressed and touched, and he reciprocated with affectionate attention, personally blessing both children. Gadkari himself warmly welcomed the Defence Minister and accompanied him to his car after the visit.

Social Media Praises Gadkari Family Values

The interaction has gone viral, with netizens lauding the strong cultural and moral upbringing of Gadkari’s grandchildren. Many noted that in today’s times, even children from middle-class families often overlook traditional gestures of respect, greeting guests casually and immediately returning to mobile phones. In contrast, the Gadkari family’s children set an example of humility and reverence, earning appreciation for the parents and grandparents who instilled these values.

The Sashtang Pranam involves touching the ground with eight parts of the body—head, hands, heart, knees, feet, eyes, words, and mind—symbolizing complete surrender, respect, and humility. It is also called Dandavat Pranam, reflecting a total absence of ego and full devotion.
