Tonk:
Buoyed by the recent victory in the Anta Assembly bypoll, the Congress in Rajasthan is in high spirits. Amid this momentum, senior Congress leader and Tonk MLA Sachin Pilot has issued a strong message to party workers. With the upcoming Panchayati Raj and Urban Local Body elections approaching, Pilot has laid down a clear guideline: Only those who work for the organisation will get party tickets.
During his one-day visit to Tonk, Pilot launched a sharp attack on the BJP and delivered a blunt advisory to his own party cadre. “Wearing a safa, clicking photographs, or roaming around me will not help anyone secure a ticket,” he said. “The party will only reward those who work sincerely at the organisational level.”
“If You Want the Sweet Reward, Do the Real Work” – Pilot’s Message to Workers
Addressing Congress workers, Pilot stressed that the era of getting political benefits through photo-ops and proximity to leaders is over.
He said:
- “No one will gain anything without working for the party.”
- “Time has changed; simply taking photos with leaders has no value now.”
- “Only those who strengthen the organisation in a disciplined and planned manner will be given tickets.”
Pilot added that if anyone wants a ticket, they must work door-to-door, street-to-street, serving the party at the grassroots. “Running behind me, clicking selfies, or offering a safa will achieve nothing,” he warned.
Pilot Raises Questions Over Bihar Election Results
Speaking to the media in Tonk, Pilot also commented sharply on the recently concluded Bihar Assembly Elections, where the BJP-led NDA secured a sweeping victory.
Pilot alleged large-scale irregularities in the electoral rolls:
- “Lakhs of voters’ names disappeared before the election.”
- “Such discrepancies raise serious doubts.”
- “Democratic institutions must protect their credibility.”
Pilot’s remarks were seen as a direct attack on the Election Commission. Earlier, he received a warm welcome from Congress leaders and workers upon his arrival in Tonk.
