Rajasthan MLA Fund Commission Case: Three MLAs to Appear Before Ethics Committee Again Today

Three Rajasthan MLAs are set to appear before the Ethics Committee for the second time today in the MLA Fund Commission bribery case. The case, involving allegations of accepting commissions for recommending development works from the MLA fund, has captured widespread attention across the state and the country.

The Accused MLAs

The MLAs involved are:

  • Revanthram Danga – BJP
  • Anita Jatav – Congress
  • Ritu Banawat – Independent

A sting operation conducted by a media group last month showed the three MLAs allegedly agreeing to take commissions for recommending development works from their constituency funds. The videos were made public on 14 December 2025, thrusting the MLAs into serious controversy.

Membership Under Threat

Following the allegations, the issue has raised concerns about the integrity of the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly. Both BJP and Congress have issued notices to their respective MLAs asking for explanations. Assembly Speaker Vasudev Devanani entrusted the Ethics Committee with a thorough investigation, warning that if found guilty, the MLAs’ legislative membership could be revoked.

Previous Proceedings

After the Speaker’s order, the Ethics Committee convened on 17 December 2025, summoning the three MLAs. During their first appearance on 19 December, the MLAs could not provide conclusive evidence of their innocence. Each requested additional time to submit documents—Anita Jatav sought 7 days, Ritu Banawat 10 days, and Revanthram Danga 15 days. The committee initially allowed separate appearances but later directed that all three appear together.
