The Rajasthan government has announced a major relief for students preparing for competitive examinations. Under a special scheme for children of labour-class families, students who clear the UPSC (IAS) Prelims or RAS Prelims can receive financial assistance up to ₹1 lakh.
A Gift for Rajasthan’s Aspirants
Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, the state government is actively working for the welfare of labourers and their families. As part of these efforts, bright students from registered labour households are being encouraged to pursue administrative services by offering them incentive-based financial support.
According to officials, the scheme aims to increase interest in education, boost confidence among underprivileged youth, and inspire them to excel in competitive exams.
So far, 80 students have collectively received ₹40 lakh in assistance under this initiative.
What Benefits Does the Scheme Offer?
Rajasthan has designated a special incentive amount for talented students belonging to labour families:
- ₹1,00,000 for clearing the IAS (UPSC) Prelims
- ₹50,000 for clearing the RAS (RPSC) Prelims
- Designed especially for students who struggle financially and cannot afford coaching or preparation materials
The scheme empowers youth to continue their education without financial stress and pursue higher administrative positions.
Who Can Apply?
This scheme is exclusively for students from Rajasthan registered under the labour welfare board whose families belong to the construction labour category.
- Parents’ annual income must not exceed ₹2.5 lakh
- Applicant must be a child of a registered labourer with regular contribution records
- Government employees are not eligible
- Incentive will be given only once each for IAS and RAS Prelims
(If taken earlier, no second payment for clearing the same exam again)
Any false information in the application will result in the amount being recovered with interest.
How to Apply?
- Students must apply through the official “Aapka Sahayak Portal”
- Application must be submitted within 6 months of the Prelims result date
- The application will be verified and approved by senior officers of the district labour office
- Approved incentive amounts will be transferred directly to the student’s bank account via RTGS/NEFT
A Step Toward Empowering Aspirational Youth
The scheme is seen as a major step toward enabling children of labourers to compete in prestigious exams like UPSC and RAS. By providing financial aid at the right stage, the Rajasthan government aims to create a more level playing field and encourage students from economically weaker backgrounds to pursue a brighter future.
