Jaipur: After a long wait, Rajasthan BJP President Madan Rathore has announced the party’s new state executive team, carefully balancing all major factions within the party. Leaders aligned with former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, former state president CP Joshi, and Satish Poonia have all been given equal responsibilities, signaling a move to strengthen internal unity.
Focus on Unity and Organizational Balance
In his announcement, Rathore emphasized that the new appointments aim to reduce factionalism and ensure that senior leaders work together for the party’s objectives. Key positions, including vice-presidents, general secretaries, secretaries, spokespersons, and other office-bearers, have been allocated to active party workers from all factions. The move reflects Rathore’s strategy to foster a cohesive organizational structure and prevent internal disputes.
Equal Representation for All Factions
The new state executive provides equal responsibility to supporters of Vasundhara Raje, CP Joshi, and Satish Poonia. Leaders close to Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma have also been included. By giving equal importance to all factions, Rathore ensures that no single group dominates, promoting collaboration among senior party leaders.
Composition of the New Team
The new executive team comprises 34 leaders, including nine vice-presidents, four general secretaries, seven ministers, a treasurer, a deputy treasurer, a department head, and seven spokespersons. Only two sitting MLAs have been included, and no MPs have been given positions, highlighting the focus on active party workers who can dedicate significant time to organizational work.
Attention to Core Vote Banks
The team has been structured to address the party’s core voter base. Leaders from the general category, considered the party’s core support, have been given the maximum representation with 18 appointments. OBC leaders have received 10 positions in preparation for upcoming municipal and panchayat elections, while SC/ST leaders have been given comparatively fewer responsibilities. Additionally, a position has been reserved for a minority (Sikh) leader, reflecting inclusivity in the team.
Madan Rathore’s new team underscores BJP’s strategy to unify the state organization, balance internal factions, and prepare for upcoming electoral challenges.
