Rajasthan Assembly in Turmoil: Rahul Gandhi Mention Sparks Heated Debate During Governor’s Address Discussion

Jaipur: The Rajasthan Legislative Assembly witnessed a tense political scene during the discussion on the Governor’s address. The atmosphere turned particularly charged when Opposition Leader Tikaram Jully accused the state government of corruption, excessive branding, and neglect of public issues. The uproar peaked after the mention of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in the house. Jully also raised the ongoing Khejri Bachao movement in Bikaner as a point of concern.

Opposition Targets Government Policies
During the debate, Tikaram Jully criticized the ruling BJP government for prioritizing publicity over governance. He alleged that despite pressing public concerns, the government has focused heavily on branding, spending crores of rupees in the process.

₹8 Crore Publicity Contract and CM Reels
Jully took a dig at the Chief Minister, claiming that while real work was lagging, the government did not hold back on promotional activities. He alleged that ₹8 crore had been allocated for branding initiatives, including reels featuring the Chief Minister. Jully further claimed that the state-run YouTube channels created for these campaigns have minimal viewership.

Questioning Administrative Transfers
The opposition leader also raised questions regarding administrative reshuffles. He noted that after the transfers of the Chief Secretary and Principal Secretary, discussions emerged about who would be next. Jully sarcastically remarked that he hoped the Chief Minister would complete the full five-year term without being replaced.

Allegations Over Cabinet Meeting
Jully accused the government of convening a cabinet meeting immediately after a major industrialist met officials, hinting at possible undue influence. He indicated that he could reveal the industrialist’s name if necessary. He also cited a party meeting where a minister reportedly admitted that public unrest in villages was partly due to another minister’s actions, which had sparked further debate in the assembly.
