Anta, Baran: The by-election for Rajasthan’s Anta Assembly seat has entered a crucial phase, with polling underway since 7:00 AM. Security arrangements have been tightened across the constituency, ensuring a smooth and peaceful voting process for the 2,28,264 registered voters.

Voting Progress:

  • By 11:00 AM, nearly 30% of voters had cast their ballots, reflecting strong turnout despite cold weather.
  • By 1:00 PM, the participation rate rose to 47.77%, and by 3:00 PM, the total polling crossed 60%, reaching 64.68%.

Polling Highlights:

  • Voting began promptly at 7:00 AM at all 268 polling stations, with citizens queuing early to exercise their franchise.
  • BJP candidate Morpal Suman cast his vote early in the day, calling it “a choice of the people” and expressing confidence in securing voter support.

Security Arrangements:
The constituency witnessed heightened security measures, with 13 inter-state and 5 inter-district checkpoints, monitored by armed forces. Police and administrative officials maintained constant vigilance to ensure a free, fair, and peaceful election.

Voter Demographics:
Out of the total registered voters, 1,16,783 are men, 1,11,477 women, and 4 others, all eligible to vote across the 268 centers in Anta.

Election Atmosphere:
The by-election is not only a test of party strength but also a reflection of local political dynamics. With the polling turnout steadily climbing, authorities are optimistic about concluding the election without disruption. The Anta constituency is now closely watched as it may indicate broader electoral trends in the region.
