Kurukshetra: Newly appointed district Congress presidents from Haryana and Uttarakhand got a one-of-a-kind experience last week when Rahul Gandhi combined politics, martial arts, and spiritual philosophy in a training session.
During the concluding phase of a 10-day training camp held in Kurukshetra, Rahul Gandhi entered the stage dressed in martial arts attire and demonstrated Jiu-Jitsu techniques with a professional instructor. The event took place on January 21, coinciding with his arrival at Ambala Airstrip via a special aircraft.
Congress Leaders Astonished by Rahul’s Approach
According to attendees, Rahul repeatedly asked participants to lift and throw him during the demonstration, leaving them initially astonished. He then explained the political symbolism behind it. Rahul Gandhi emphasized that, just like martial arts require strategy, patience, and courage, the same qualities are essential in politics—especially when facing a strong and aggressive opponent like the BJP.
Through his demonstration, he illustrated the importance of maintaining balance, protecting oneself, and exhausting the opponent without direct confrontation. He stressed that district leaders should adopt similar strategic approaches and techniques while navigating political battles.
Drawing Inspiration from Lord Shiva
Rahul Gandhi also referenced Kurukshetra’s religious heritage, discussing Hindu philosophy and symbols associated with Lord Shiva. He spoke about the three lines of sacred ash (Bhasma) on Shiva’s forehead, symbolizing body, mind, and soul, which never merge. He highlighted that the teachings of Hindu philosophy and Lord Shiva emphasize becoming focused, strong, fearless, and self-reliant, and encouraged the leaders to internalize these lessons in their political journey.
