R.K. Singh Expelled from BJP for Six Years; Party Begins Crackdown on Rebel Leaders After Big Win

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has taken strong disciplinary action against one of its most prominent rebel voices. Former Union Minister, ex-MP from Arrah, and former bureaucrat Raj Kumar Singh (R.K. Singh) has been expelled from the party for six years.

BJP Acts Against Rebels After Landslide Victory

Following its sweeping victory in the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections, the BJP has begun a strict crackdown on leaders who defied party discipline during the campaign. R.K. Singh has become the first major name to face action.

R.K. Singh Faces the Axe

The party has removed the former minister on charges of anti-party activities. Singh had repeatedly issued statements that went against the party’s official stand, creating discomfort within the BJP leadership. His conduct during the election period was closely monitored, ultimately resulting in his expulsion.

A History of Provocative Statements

Throughout the election season, R.K. Singh stayed away from BJP’s campaign activities. Instead, he repeatedly criticized party leaders and, on several occasions, even supported the remarks of political strategist Prashant Kishor. His statements were seen as a direct challenge to the party’s authority, causing irritation within the ranks.

BJP Feared Loss of Rajput Votes

The BJP leadership was particularly concerned that Singh’s rebellious stance—coming from a prominent Rajput face—might impact Rajput and Kshatriya votes across Shahabad and adjoining regions. To counter this, the BJP strategically brought Bhojpuri star Pawan Singh into its fold before the election, neutralizing the potential damage.

The strategy worked, and the party registered a decisive win. With the results declared, the BJP has now shifted its focus to internal discipline—starting with a tough decision against R.K. Singh.

More Actions Likely

The party’s message is clear:
Rebellion will not be tolerated, especially after a mandate as strong as this one.

With R.K. Singh’s expulsion, more disciplinary actions against other dissenting leaders are expected in the coming days.
