
Lucknow: President Droupadi Murmu will arrive in Lucknow today for a one-day visit, during which she will inaugurate the Brahma Kumaris’ state-level campaign and attend the closing ceremony of the 19th National Jamboree of Bharat Scouts and Guides. Extensive traffic diversions have been implemented across the city from 11:30 AM to 5:30 PM to ensure security and smooth movement.
The President will land at Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport at 11:30 AM and proceed directly to the Gulzar Upvan Rajyog Training Centre on Sultanpur Road. At noon, she will inaugurate the programme themed “Meditation for Global Unity and Trust.”
Governor Anandiben Patel, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, and other dignitaries will attend the launch of the Brahma Kumaris’ state-level campaign, which focuses on the 2025–26 annual theme highlighting global harmony through Rajyog.
After resting at Raj Bhavan, President Murmu will head to the Defence Expo Ground in Vrindavan Colony at 2 PM for the closing ceremony of the 19th National Jamboree, expected to host over 30,000 participants. She will return to Delhi in the evening.
To facilitate this high-profile movement, Lucknow Police have issued a detailed traffic diversion plan, effective from 8 PM on November 27 until the President’s departure. Emergency services, including ambulances, will be provided green corridors. The programme venues have been declared no-flying zones, and citizens are urged to use alternative routes.
Traffic Diversion Plan
Amousi Airport Zone
- Normal traffic will not be allowed inside the airport from the VIP junction.
- Vehicles will be diverted via Amousi Commercial Mode.
- From Kanpur Road Tiraaha, no entry towards Shaheed Path; traffic will be diverted via Transport Nagar, Old Chungi, Piccadilly, Barabirwa, or Scooter India.
Brahma Kumaris Rajyog Training Centre (Gulzar Upvan)
- Traffic from Gosai Ganj Tiraaha toward the centre will remain restricted; alternative route via district jail–Mohalalganj–Kisan Path.
- Kabirpur Underpass and Ahimamau Underpass routes towards the venue will remain closed.
- Sahu Residency Camp Gate entry fully restricted.
- Traffic diverted via Shaheed Path and Kamta Tiraaha.
Raj Bhavan Area
- No traffic will move from Bandariyabagh towards Raj Bhavan, DSO, or Hazratganj.
- Diversions through Golf Club Chauraha, Lalbatti Chauraha, and SN Overbridge.
- From Hazratganj, movement towards DSO or Bandariyabagh will be restricted.
- 1090 Crossing: Roadways buses barred from Bandariyabagh and Golf Club routes.
- DSO to Park Road stretch will remain closed.
Vrindavan Yojna Sector-15 (Defence Expo Venue)
- Sector-14 to Sector-19 routes restricted; diversions via Sector-12, Gyan Sarovar Bridge, and Telibagh.
- Sector-19 to Sector-16 and Sector-15 closed for regular traffic.
- Sector-18 (New Trauma Centre) to Sector-19 traffic restricted; alternate via Sector-17 and Kalli Paschim Police Line Road.
- Sector-12, Sector-11, and Shaheed Path underpass routes towards the venue will remain blocked.
Lucknow Police have appealed to residents to cooperate and avoid restricted routes. Heavy security deployment, real-time monitoring, and emergency corridors form part of the overall safety plan for the President’s visit.
