Popular YouTuber-Teacher Naveen Sharma Set to Join Samajwadi Party, May Contest from Bulandshahr

Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh: As the assembly election buzz intensifies in Uttar Pradesh, the Samajwadi Party (SP) is actively expanding its fold. In a major political development, popular YouTuber and educator Naveen Sharma is reportedly set to join the party on February 22, 2026. Sources suggest he may contest the elections from the Sikandrabad Assembly constituency in Bulandshahr.

Naveen Sharma: From Education to Politics

Naveen Sharma has earned widespread recognition for his educational content on YouTube. Associated with the channel ‘Rojgar with Ankit’ (RWA), he has become a household name among students preparing for competitive exams. The channel boasts approximately 18 million subscribers, making it one of India’s leading educational platforms.

Sharma’s entry into politics highlights a growing trend of educators and knowledge influencers entering the political arena. While university professors have restrictions on contesting elections, teachers with significant public influence, including YouTubers, are increasingly making their presence felt. Notably, during the Delhi elections, YouTuber-teacher Avadh Ojha had contested, setting a precedent that Sharma now seems poised to follow.

Early Political Engagement

Naveen Sharma’s interest in politics has been evident for over a year. About six months ago, he met SP president Akhilesh Yadav for over an hour to discuss the challenges faced by students preparing for competitive exams. During this meeting, he also shared suggestions to improve the social and educational framework, hinting at his political ambitions.

With February 22 approaching, all eyes are now on Sharma as he prepares to formally join the Samajwadi Party, potentially bringing his popularity among youth and students to the political forefront.
