Ranchi/Delhi: The Congress Party is set to hold a massive rally against alleged “vote theft” next month at Ramlila Maidan, Delhi, and over 5,000 workers from Jharkhand are expected to participate, party leaders confirmed.
Jharkhand Congress Mobilization
Jharkhand Congress President Keshav Mahato Kamlesh said the state unit is sending more than 5,000 party workers to the Delhi rally, who will also protest the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter lists in several states. He added that district presidents have been instructed to prepare detailed lists of participants from all divisions.
Rally Details
The Congress had announced last Friday that the rally, titled “Vote Chor Gaddi Chhodo”, will be held on 14 December at Ramlila Maidan. The event aims to spotlight alleged electoral malpractice, including voter list manipulations across 12 states and Union Territories.
Accusations Against NDA Governments
Keshav Mahato Kamlesh accused that in several states, NDA governments were formed through “stolen votes”. He further alleged that the Election Commission, acting under the influence of ruling parties, has compromised the integrity of the electoral process.
Mahato asserted, “To safeguard democracy, it is imperative that we raise the voice of the people loudly and persistently.”
The Congress hopes the Delhi rally will consolidate public attention on electoral transparency and galvanize support ahead of upcoming elections.
