
Kolkata: Ahead of the West Bengal Assembly elections scheduled early next year, the Election Commission of India (ECI) has released the list of voters removed under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process. The announcement comes just hours before the publication of the 2026 draft electoral rolls.
According to the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of West Bengal, 5,820,898 names have been deleted from the draft list due to reasons including death, relocation, missing records, duplication, and other causes.
The Election Commission has clarified that affected individuals can file claims or objections using Form 6, along with supporting documents, during the designated period following the release of the draft list. This window remains open until 15 January 2026, after which the final electoral roll will be published.

How to Check Your Name in the SIR List
Voters can verify their names online using their voter ID or EPIC number at:
Verification is also available via the ECINET mobile app. If online portals are inaccessible, voters may contact their Booth Level Officers (BLOs) or Booth Level Assistants (BLAs) for assistance.
What to Do If Your Name Is Missing
Voters whose names do not appear in the draft list can submit Form 6 along with Annexure IV to their BLO. Applications can be submitted in person or online via the ECI portal or E-NET app. Applicants must attend hearings and provide proof of Indian citizenship and voter eligibility, explaining why their names were omitted.
