Nitish Kumar’s ‘Samriddhi Yatra’ in Gopalganj: CM Welcomed with Songs, Announces Development Projects Worth ₹325 Crore

Gopalganj, Bihar: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s ‘Samriddhi Yatra’ reached Gopalganj today on its fourth day, continuing his statewide review of development initiatives. During the visit, the CM inaugurated and laid the foundation for projects worth over ₹325 crore, inspected the implementation of the state’s ‘Saat Nishchay’ (Seven Resolves) schemes, reviewed the Saran dam strengthening works, and attended an agricultural fair showcasing modern farming technologies.

The tour, covering the village of Batardeha in Barauli block after stops in Bettiah, Motihari, and Sitamarhi, lasted approximately two and a half hours. The primary aim of the visit was to assess development work on the ground and evaluate the progress of the ‘Saat Nishchay’ programs. The district administration deployed over 2,000 police personnel to ensure strict security and smooth management of the event.

₹325 Crore in Development Initiatives

During the visit, CM Nitish Kumar unveiled projects worth ₹131.44 crore and laid the foundation for new initiatives totaling ₹194.04 crore, bringing the total development investment to ₹325.48 crore in Gopalganj. The program began at Premnagar Ashram in Barauli block, where the CM also conducted a detailed review of road and bridge construction works across the district.

Inspection of Saran Dam and Agricultural Fair

As part of the itinerary, the CM conducted a spot visit to the Saran dam to assess its strengthening, elevation, and pitching works. He also attended the ‘Agricultural Mechanization Fair’ aimed at connecting farmers with modern farming technologies. The CM visited six stalls set up by the Department of Agriculture, interacting with farmers and learning about innovative practices and facilities available for modern cultivation.

Focus on ‘Saat Nishchay’ and Public Interaction

Throughout the Yatra, the Chief Minister focused on the implementation of the ‘Saat Nishchay’ schemes, personally engaging with beneficiaries to understand the impact of the initiatives. The administration made elaborate arrangements for the CM’s visit, facilitating direct interaction with local residents to hear their concerns and suggestions.
