Nitish Kumar to Take Oath Today as Bihar CM for 10th Term; Check Likely Ministers List

Patna: Political speculation over the formation of Bihar’s new NDA government has finally ended. In the NDA legislative party meeting, Nitish Kumar was unanimously elected leader, paving the way for him to assume the Chief Minister’s office for the 10th time.

The BJP, in its legislative party meeting, selected Samrat Chaudhary as leader and Vijay Kumar Sinha as deputy leader. Both are expected to take oath as Deputy Chief Ministers. The swearing-in ceremony is scheduled today, November 20, at Gandhi Maidan in Patna. Reports suggest that alongside Nitish Kumar, 20 ministers may be sworn in.

Party-wise Ministerial Distribution
The new cabinet, including the Chief Minister, is expected to have 20 members. Representation is planned based on party strength:

  • JDU: 8 ministers
  • BJP: 8 ministers
  • LJP (Ram Vilas): 3 ministers
  • Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) & RLSP: 1 minister each

After the Kharmaas period, the cabinet is expected to be expanded further.

Dignitaries Expected
The swearing-in ceremony is likely to see the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, several central ministers, and Chief Ministers from BJP-ruled states.
