Nawada: Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s recent visit to Nawada district was notable for both its timing and significance. Arriving at the Rajouli block, the CM engaged directly with the public and rewarded the district for its unwavering support in the recent elections. During his visit, he inspected over a dozen government initiatives and issued crucial directives to officials.
The visit was widely seen as a ‘thank-you’ to the people of Nawada, who delivered an impressive performance in the 2025 elections. In a remarkable turnaround from the 2020 elections, Nawada voters shifted the balance in favor of the NDA, transforming a previous 1:4 disadvantage into a 4:1 victory in favor of CM Kumar’s alliance.
Political Significance Behind the Generosity
While Chief Minister Kumar oversees the development of the entire state, Nawada has emerged as a focal point due to its electoral turnaround. In the 2020 Bihar elections, NDA secured only one seat in the district, with the remaining constituencies falling to the Mahagathbandhan. Candidates like Prakash Veer (RJD, Rajouli), Neetu Kumar (Congress, Hisua), Md. Kamran (RJD, Govindganj), and Vibha Devi (RJD, Nawada) claimed victories.
The 2025 elections saw a reversal: NDA won four of the five seats, with RJD retaining only Warsaliganj. ZJD secured victories in Nawada and Hisua, while LJP(R) claimed Rajouli and Govindganj. This dramatic shift made Nawada a priority for Chief Minister Kumar’s attention.
Rewarding Nawada with Development Initiatives
On Friday, Chief Minister Kumar arrived at Rajouli block to present the district with the fruits of victory. He inspected multiple projects and emphasized the government’s commitment to education, healthcare, and employment. Accompanied by Deputy CM Samrat Chaudhary and Finance Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, the CM landed at Rajouli Inter School by helicopter and immediately began his inspections.
Speaking with students, the CM listened to their concerns. Students highlighted the positive impact of government programs such as bicycles, uniforms, and educational incentive schemes. Kumar assured that women’s development initiatives would also be implemented swiftly.
He further inspected Rajouli Health Center, directing officials to enhance hygiene and patient care, and praised the fish farming initiative at Fulwaria reservoir as part of the government’s employment generation efforts.
Focus on Renewable Energy and Local Production
The CM also reviewed the solar power plant, urging its early commissioning to ensure enhanced electricity production for the region. Additionally, he visited more than 50 stalls set up by departments including Social Welfare and self-help groups under the JEEVIKA initiative, encouraging increased local production and entrepreneurship.
After a 30-minute engagement with the public and officials, Nitish Kumar departed for Patna by helicopter, leaving a strong message of development and gratitude in Nawada.
