Nitish Kumar Set to Return as Bihar CM; Vijay Kumar Sinha and Samrat Chaudhary Reappointed as Deputy CMs

Patna: Ahead of the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections, the NDA’s two key constituent parties have finalized their legislative leadership, signaling a clear political roadmap for the state. In a unanimous decision during the JDU legislative party meeting, Nitish Kumar was re-elected as the leader of the Janata Dal (United) legislators, paving the way for him to continue as Bihar’s Chief Minister.

JDU Confirms Nitish Kumar as Legislative Party Leader

The meeting of JDU legislators took place at the Chief Minister’s residence, where all 85 party MLAs were present. Within an hour, Nitish Kumar was unanimously chosen as the leader of the JDU legislative party. Party insiders had indicated beforehand that Nitish Kumar was the only name proposed for the position, reflecting the party’s consolidated support for his leadership.

BJP Retains Deputy CMs

Simultaneously, the BJP legislative party confirmed the reappointment of its two Deputy Chief Ministers. Samrat Chaudhary was elected as the leader of the BJP legislative party, while Vijay Kumar Sinha was re-elected as its deputy leader. This ensures that both will continue to serve as Bihar’s Deputy Chief Ministers in the new government.

NDA Legislative Party Meeting Scheduled for Afternoon

Once the BJP finalizes its legislative leadership, all NDA legislators will convene at the State Assembly’s Central Hall at 3:30 PM to formally elect the leader of the NDA legislative party. Subsequently, Nitish Kumar is expected to visit Raj Bhavan to submit his resignation and present the list of ministers for the swearing-in ceremony of the new Bihar government.

This development marks a continuation of the current leadership, consolidating NDA’s strategy ahead of the assembly elections while ensuring political stability in Bihar.
