
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday launched the second phase of his ambitious ‘Samriddhi Yatra’, beginning from Madhubani district in the Mithila region. During the three-day tour from January 27 to 29, the Chief Minister will review the progress of government schemes and announce major development projects across several districts.
On the first day of the tour in Madhubani, the Chief Minister laid the foundation stone for 101 new projects worth ₹298 crore and inaugurated 294 completed projects costing ₹93 crore, taking the total value of development initiatives announced in the district to ₹391 crore.
The visit aims to assess the on-ground implementation of flagship programmes under ‘Saat Nishchay–2’ and ‘Saat Nishchay–3’, while also ensuring accountability by reviewing the status of previously sanctioned works. The Chief Minister interacted directly with the public through a Jan Samvad (public interaction) programme, seeking feedback on the effectiveness of government schemes and addressing local grievances.
The district administration has been placed on high alert in view of the Chief Minister’s visit. Senior officials have been instructed to ensure full preparedness, as the Chief Minister is scheduled to conduct spot inspections, hold review meetings, and issue directions for the prompt redressal of public complaints.
According to the official itinerary, Darbhanga will be the next stop on January 28, where the Chief Minister will inspect ongoing development works and launch new projects. On January 29, he will visit Samastipur, where he will continue field inspections and interact directly with residents.
Notably, during the first phase of the Samriddhi Yatra, held between January 16 and 24, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar toured West Champaran, East Champaran, Sitamarhi, Sheohar, Gopalganj, Saran, Siwan, Muzaffarpur, and Vaishali districts. During these visits, he conducted detailed reviews of development schemes and closely monitored the implementation of the Saat Nishchay programmes.
