Patna, January 7, 2026: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has taken a significant step to address public grievances efficiently. All government officials responsible for resolving citizen issues have been instructed to meet the public at their offices starting January 19, 2026.
The Chief Minister shared this update via social media on Wednesday, highlighting the government’s commitment to making governance more citizen-friendly. He noted that after the formation of the new state government on November 20, 2025, several key initiatives under the ‘Saat Nishchay-3’ (Seven Resolves-3) program have been implemented to ensure Bihar ranks among the most developed states in India. The seventh resolve, ‘Sabka Samman – Jeevan Aasaan’ (Respect for All – Life Made Easier), focuses on reducing everyday difficulties faced by citizens.
Ensuring Officials’ Availability
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar observed that citizens often face inconvenience because officials are unavailable when they visit government offices. To address this, the government has issued new directives to ensure officials are present in their offices to meet the public regularly.
Designated Days for Public Interaction
Under the new arrangement, officials at all levels—from Gram Panchayat, police stations, blocks, sub-divisions, districts, divisions, to state government offices—will meet citizens every Monday and Friday. Officials are required to interact respectfully with visitors, listen to grievances attentively, and provide swift solutions.
Basic Amenities and Record-Keeping
All offices will provide necessary amenities for visitors, including seating, drinking water, and restroom facilities. A proper grievance register will be maintained, and continuous monitoring of complaints will be ensured to guarantee timely resolution.
The Chief Minister expressed confidence that this initiative will greatly benefit the people of Bihar by making government services more accessible and life easier. Citizens wishing to offer suggestions on this new system can submit them by January 10, 2026.
