
Patna, Bihar: Just a month into its tenure, the Nitish Kumar-led government in Bihar has already begun delivering on its employment promises, giving job seekers a taste of what the next five years could hold. The state has opened a “treasure trove” of job opportunities, showing early signs of fulfilling election pledges.
Empowering Women with Financial Assistance
Before the elections, Nitish Kumar had promised to provide ₹10,000 to every woman to create employment opportunities. Critics had dismissed this as mere election rhetoric. However, within the first month in office, the government disbursed the second installment of ₹10,000 to 10 lakh women, empowering them towards financial independence.
Ayush Practitioners Get Jobs
The government has also fulfilled its promise of providing employment to Ayush practitioners. Recently, appointment letters were issued to 1,283 newly recruited Ayush doctors, including 685 Ayurvedic, 393 Homeopathic, and 205 Unani practitioners. These doctors have been posted across 38 districts in various healthcare institutions under the National Child Health Program and Ayush Medical Services. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar personally handed symbolic appointment letters to ten practitioners at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat.
Massive Recruitment in Forest and Environment Department
The Bihar Forest and Environment Department has announced recruitment for 2,856 vacancies, including positions for Assistant Conservator of Forests (31), Forest Range Officers (40), Forest Guards (1,816), Clerks (396), Amin (32), and other posts. Long-standing vacancies are being filled through direct recruitment, offering significant opportunities to unemployed youth.
Health Department Jobs: Nearly 10,000 Vacancies
The Bihar Health Department has also opened approximately 10,000 posts, covering a wide range of positions. These include 2,969 Lab Technicians, 1,683 Operation Theatre Assistants, 1240 X-Ray Technicians, 242 ECG Technicians, and specialist medical positions such as 184 Radiologists, 14 Psychiatrists, 542 Gynecologists, 306 Physicians, 75 Pathologists, 617 Pediatricians, 124 Orthopedists, 83 ENT specialists, 86 Dermatologists, 988 Anesthetists, 542 Surgeons, 19 Microbiologists, and 43 Ophthalmologists.
Early Signs of Delivery
In just ten days of its first month, the Nitish Kumar government has already started showing tangible progress on job creation, signaling a proactive approach to employment and welfare promises made during elections.
