New Delhi: Newly elected Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Nitin Nabin has been provided top-tier Z-category VIP security by the central government. The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) will be responsible for ensuring his safety, officials said on Tuesday.
Nitin Nabin, at 45, is the youngest leader to assume the party’s top post. He has previously served five terms as a member of the Bihar Legislative Assembly. His election comes at a time when the BJP is strategizing to strengthen its organizational base ahead of key state assembly elections.
Security Arrangements
Officials stated that armed CRPF commandos will accompany Nabin during his nationwide tours. A few weeks ago, the Ministry of Home Affairs had directed the CRPF to manage his security. Nabin’s predecessor, J.P. Nadda, also received similar protection from the CRPF’s VIP security wing, which currently safeguards around 200 VIPs, including senior ministers, the Gandhi family, and other high-profile individuals.
Under India’s central security protocol, VIP protection is categorized into several levels: from the highest Z-plus (ASL) to Z-plus, Z, Y, Y-plus, and X categories. Nitin Nabin has been assigned Z-category protection, ensuring a commando cordon around him at all times.
Election Ceremony
The organizational election results were declared by BJP’s election officer K. Lakshman, who presented the election certificate to Nitin Nabin at the party headquarters. The event was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, senior ministers Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah, Nitin Gadkari, and other party leaders.
