NDA Slams RJD MP Surendra Yadav for Abusive Remarks; Demands Action from Lalu Prasad Yadav

Patna: Surendra Prasad Yadav, the RJD MP from Jehanabad, Bihar, has found himself embroiled in controversy after reportedly using abusive language against voters who did not support him. The MP’s comments included offensive words directed at the Yadav community, sparking a political uproar in the state. A video of the incident has gone viral on social media, intensifying the controversy.

The NDA in Bihar has demanded that RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav take strict action against his MP.

JDU Questions RJD’s Stance
The Janata Dal (United) has strongly criticized the RJD over the video. JDU MLC and spokesperson Neeraj Kumar questioned whether the RJD allows its MPs to freely abuse citizens. He urged Lalu Prasad Yadav to take action against Surendra Prasad Yadav, stating, “If not, it raises serious questions about the party’s discipline.”

Kumar added that the video exposed the fact that Lalu Yadav and Tejashwi Yadav no longer hold exclusive sway over the Yadav community in Bihar. “Under Nitish Kumar’s governance, the rule of law prevails. Such threats or abusive behavior cannot go unchecked,” he said.

BJP Demands Action
Bihar minister and BJP leader Ram Kripal Yadav also condemned Surendra Yadav’s remarks. He pointed out that the votes received by the MP were largely from the Yadav community and stressed that even though Surendra’s son lost the election, voters from the same community had contributed to the MP’s victory. Ram Kripal Yadav called on Lalu Prasad Yadav to take strict disciplinary action against Surendra Yadav.

The Controversy
The incident occurred on Sunday, 11 January, during Surendra Prasad Yadav’s visit to his constituency. When locals raised questions about regional development, the MP reportedly lost his temper and used offensive language. In the video, he is heard saying that only 15,000 votes were cast in favor of a certain candidate, expressing his frustration. He also reportedly used abusive words targeting local residents and concluded the interaction with a warning in a threatening tone.

The video has since fueled political criticism, with opposition parties questioning the RJD’s approach to discipline within its ranks.
