Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh: In a surprising development ahead of upcoming elections, the names of former BJP MLA Roop Chaudhary and BJP Metropolitan Minister Sanjeev Jha have gone missing from the voter list in Sahibabad, Ghaziabad. The incident has become a topic of discussion in local political circles, drawing attention on social media.
Roop Chaudhary Alleges Conspiracy
Roop Chaudhary, representing a section of Sahibabad assembly constituency (Part No. 305, Serial No. 464), discovered that his name was removed from the voter list, although his wife and two sons remain listed. Initially, he assumed his details might have been recorded under a different BLO (Booth Level Officer). However, after checking the Election Commission website, he found that his name was completely missing.
Chaudhary, who had voted from the same booth (Serial No. 477) in the previous Lok Sabha elections, accused authorities of a possible conspiracy. He expressed concern that despite his permanent residence and family members being listed, no official reached out to him. Following his social media protest, district administration officials contacted him for an investigation, which revealed that his name had been removed in October 2025.
Sanjeev Jha Attributes Error to Own Oversight
On the other hand, BJP Metropolitan Minister Sanjeev Jha acknowledged his name was also missing from the voter list. However, he attributed the issue to his own oversight. Jha explained that he had moved from Vasundhara Sector-4 to Sector-15, and although he had voted in 2024, he failed to submit the required address transfer form, which may have led to his exclusion.
Administration Assures Correction
The District Magistrate’s office has assured that the voter list will be corrected promptly. Both cases highlight the importance of verifying voter registration details, particularly ahead of elections, to avoid inconveniences for eligible voters.
