Mathura SP City Chief Files FIR Against Party Senior Leader Over Alleged Extortion and Threats

Mathura: A political feud within the Samajwadi Party (SP) in Mathura has taken a serious criminal turn. The SP city president, Ritu Goyal, has filed a First Information Report (FIR) against the party’s state secretary, Jageshwar Yadav, alleging extortion, obscenity, and threats to kidnap children. Police have registered a case and begun investigations based on her complaint.

Alleged Extortion and Blackmail
Ritu Goyal, who is vying for the SP ticket from the Mathura Sadar constituency in the 2027 Assembly elections, alleged that Jageshwar Yadav has been blackmailing her for a long time by threatening to block her candidature. According to her FIR, Yadav claimed that the party high command operates at his direction and demanded a bribe of ₹2 lakh for her to contest the elections.

Obscene Conduct and Threats
The complaint further alleges that Yadav had previously taken ₹20,000 from Goyal. She accused him of inappropriate conduct and of threatening to abduct her children. According to her, around three months ago, Yadav allegedly engaged in obscene behavior with her, and when she refused to comply with his demands, he reportedly called one of her party workers to threaten her children’s safety. Goyal also claimed to have informed the SP’s top leadership about the incident.

State Secretary Denies Allegations
Jageshwar Yadav, however, has strongly denied all allegations, calling them “baseless” and a politically motivated attempt to tarnish his image. He stated that he has never met or spoken to Ritu Goyal personally or over the phone.

Police Investigation Underway
Highway police station officials confirmed that an FIR has been registered. CO Anil Kaparwan stated that the case is being investigated thoroughly and that strict action will be taken based on evidence and call records. The allegations have already created a stir in Mathura’s political circles.
