Patna, 18 November 2025: Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi has strongly commented on the ongoing controversy within the family of RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav concerning Rohini Acharya. While calling it an “internal matter,” Manjhi said those involved should feel “ashamed” for the serious allegations raised by Acharya and took a dig at Tejashwi Yadav’s electoral promises.
Speaking to reporters, Manjhi said, “What can we say? This is their internal matter. But as far as the leader of the legislative party is concerned, only 5–10 people will decide. The fact is that Lalu ji is supporting Tejashwi. However, Tejashwi has committed a ‘heinous crime.’ Considering how Rohini Acharya has exposed these matters, these people should feel ashamed.”
Manjhi Targets RJD’s Actions
Citing statements by Rohini Acharya, Manjhi remarked that RJD’s “wrongdoings” are now coming to light within their own household. “The world will now understand that their time of decline has come,” he added. He also mocked Tejashwi’s election promises, saying, “We had already said earlier that their claims of providing so many jobs were mere exaggerations. No rational person would make such claims.”
The Rohini Acharya Case
Rohini Acharya, daughter of Lalu Prasad Yadav and former RJD leader, recently announced her withdrawal from active politics on social media. She cited harassment, humiliation, and intimidation within the family as reasons for her decision. Her statement came after RJD’s poor performance in the recent Bihar Assembly elections, where the party contested over 140 seats out of 243 but managed to win only 25.
Acknowledging Bihar’s Voters
Manjhi also expressed gratitude to the people of Bihar, particularly women and youth, for supporting the initiatives of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. “We thank the common people of Bihar for understanding our message and for coming out in large numbers to vote, especially the women and youth for whom Nitish Kumar has worked tirelessly,” he said.
