
Bhopal: Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced that the Madhya Pradesh budget for 2026-27, totaling ₹1.12 lakh crore, will be presented in the state assembly on February 18. Speaking to the media after the Union Budget, CM Yadav highlighted that unemployment in the state has declined to 1.5 percent, reflecting rapid improvement.
The Chief Minister said the upcoming state budget is a forward-looking plan aimed at boosting investor confidence and promoting inclusive growth. He noted that the Union Budget had given special attention to poor citizens, youth, and women, complementing the state’s development initiatives.
Key Allocations and Initiatives
- Urban Development: ₹5,000 crore will be spent over five years on the development of cities with populations exceeding 5 lakh.
- Pilgrimage and Tourism: Small towns will see the development of local pilgrimage sites.
- Women and Healthcare: Women’s hostels will be built in every district, and district hospitals will be upgraded.
- Employment: The PM Mitra Park initiative is expected to generate jobs for 3 lakh people, benefiting farmers and boosting the textile industry.
- Technology and Innovation: Emphasis will be placed on research and development and the use of artificial intelligence to drive economic growth and make public services more efficient.
CM Mohan Yadav described the budget as a decisive step toward comprehensive, inclusive, and future-oriented development, asserting that “Our budget is setting a new direction for the world.”
