J&K to Soon Regain Full Statehood, Says Deputy CM Surendra Choudhary During Bagpat Visit

Bagpat, Uttar Pradesh: Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Chief Minister Surendra Choudhary visited Bagpat on Monday and made a significant statement regarding the region’s political future, asserting that Kashmir will soon be restored to full statehood.

During his address, Choudhary also responded to remarks made by PDP leader Mehbooba Mufti, suggesting that she appears indecisive about her political stance. “Mehbooba Mufti is confused. She needs to decide clearly what path she wants to take in Jammu and Kashmir,” he said.

Response to Mehbooba Mufti

Choudhary criticized the PDP chief for her changing positions over the years. “There were times in 2019 when she contested elections in alliance with the BJP, and at other times she has made contradictory statements. Mehbooba Mufti herself must reflect on when the situation in J&K was better,” he added. He emphasized that she must determine which political “lines” to pursue, distinguishing between major and minor decisions.

Mehbooba Mufti had recently highlighted ongoing challenges in Kashmir, stating that problems were echoed in front of the Red Fort, criticizing the government for failing to ensure security and alleging that Delhi itself had become unsafe.

Assurance on Full Statehood

Deputy CM Choudhary reaffirmed the government’s commitment to restoring full statehood to Jammu and Kashmir. “The people of Hindustan and Jammu have always been committed to the nation. Despite Pakistan’s attempts to create unrest, Kashmir will soon regain full statehood. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah are determined to fulfill this promise,” he stated.

Choudhary concluded by highlighting the strategic and cultural importance of Jammu and Kashmir to India, reiterating the central government’s resolve to secure the region’s political and territorial integrity.
