Somesh Soren’s Victory and Oath Ceremony
The oath-taking ceremony witnessed the presence of JMM senior leader and MLA Stephen Marandi, emphasizing party unity and organizational strength. Several public representatives, officials, and party workers extended their congratulations to Somesh Soren.
Somesh Chandra Soren secured a landslide victory in the bypoll held after the demise of former minister Ramdas Soren. He defeated Babulal Soren, son of ex-CM Champai Soren, by a margin of over 38,000 votes, surpassing his father’s 2024 record when Ramdas Soren had won by over 22,000 votes. While votes for the JMM candidate and JLKLM’s Ramdas Murmu increased compared to the 2024 elections, the BJP candidate Babulal Soren saw a decline in support. This defeat is considered a significant setback for Babulal Soren and his political influence.
