
Ranchi: The Jharkhand Legislative Assembly marked its 25th Foundation Day on Saturday with a grand Silver Jubilee celebration. The historic event was conducted in two separate sessions and was inaugurated by Governor Santosh Gangwar. Chief Minister Hemant Soren and Assembly Speaker Ravindra Nath Mahto were also present on the dais.
Outstanding Legislator Award
This year, the 21st Outstanding Legislator Award was presented to BJP MLA Raj Sinha from Dhanbad in recognition of his exemplary contributions. In addition, the families of 16 martyrs were felicitated for their sacrifices in the line of duty.
A Milestone for Young Jharkhand
Congratulating Raj Sinha, Chief Minister Hemant Soren described the 25th anniversary as a significant milestone in the journey of the young state of Jharkhand. He noted that after the state government and the High Court, the Assembly too is celebrating its Silver Jubilee.
Chief Minister Soren highlighted that the creation of Jharkhand was unique compared to the formation of other Indian states. He recalled the struggles for freedom and emphasized the countless sacrifices made to safeguard the state’s land, forests, rivers, and the rights of tribal and indigenous communities.
Cultural Festivities
Following the award ceremony in the first session, the evening session will feature a series of cultural programs, showcasing Jharkhand’s rich heritage and traditions.
