Jaipur: BJP Youth Morcha Clashes with Police During Attempt to Surround Congress Headquarters

Jaipur: Tensions escalated near the Congress headquarters in Jaipur on Saturday as workers of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Youth Morcha attempted to stage a protest and surround the office. A scuffle broke out between the youth activists and the police when authorities tried to prevent them from advancing.

Protest March Led by Shankar Gora

The demonstration began around noon at Shaheed Smarak, where the youth activists raised slogans against Rahul Gandhi. Led by BJP Youth Morcha state president Shankar Gora, the group marched on foot along Sansar Chandra Road toward the state Congress headquarters. Police were on high alert and had fortified the area with barricades.

Clash at the Barricades

As the protesters reached the Congress office, they tried to breach the barricades, leading to a brief scuffle with the police. While there was minor pushing and verbal confrontation, the situation was quickly brought under control.

Shankar Gora, addressing the media, said, “The Congress party has crossed its political limits. By opposing the Prime Minister, it is attempting to create an anti-national atmosphere. The party must come out of this mindset.”

Background of the Protest

The protest was announced in response to an incident on Friday during the International AI Conference held at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. NSUI workers had staged a demonstration against the Indo-US trade deal and raised slogans against the Prime Minister. BJP Youth Morcha, expressing outrage over the event, had announced the Jaipur protest. The previous evening, activists had also burnt an effigy of Rahul Gandhi.

Police officials stated that adequate arrangements were in place to maintain law and order, and the situation remained under control throughout the protest.
