Patna, Bihar: The growing political activity of Nishant Kumar, son of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, has once again fueled speculation about a possible succession plan in the state’s राजनीति. His recent presence and visible engagement in Bakhtiarpur after Makar Sankranti have set the rumor mill buzzing about his formal entry into politics.

JDU Wants Nishant in Mainstream Politics: Umesh Kushwaha

Clarifying the party’s stand on the issue, JDU state president Umesh Kushwaha said that leaders and workers across the party want Nishant Kumar to step into mainstream politics. “He is a highly educated, capable, and deserving young man who can effectively carry forward Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s ideology of ‘development with justice,’” Kushwaha said.

He added that the party firmly believes Nishant Kumar has the potential to continue and strengthen the developmental roadmap laid down by Nitish Kumar for Bihar. According to Kushwaha, the JDU camp views him as a natural and worthy successor to the Chief Minister’s political legacy.

While acknowledging the sentiments of party workers, Kushwaha made it clear that the final decision rests entirely with Nishant Kumar himself. “Nishant Kumar is fully independent and capable of deciding his own future and whether he wishes to make a political debut,” he said, emphasizing that there would be no pressure from the party leadership.
