Indore: Ten people have died and over 200 have fallen ill due to contaminated drinking water in Bhagirathpura, casting a serious shadow over Indore’s reputation for cleanliness. When a television reporter questioned Urban Development and Housing Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya about the incident, he lost his composure and told the journalist, “Don’t ask frivolous questions.” The remark quickly went viral on social media, forcing the minister to issue a public apology.
Local Councillor Under Scrutiny
The focus has also shifted to Kamal Vaghela, a BJP councillor from Bhagirathpura, who appeared in the viral footage defending Minister Vijayvargiya. Wearing a sky-blue kurta, Vaghela was seen confronting the reporter and attempting to shield the minister from criticism.
Residents have accused Vaghela of negligence and misconduct. Many allege that when they approached him with complaints about dirty water, he intimidated and turned them away. Shockingly, another viral video shows the councillor leisurely swinging in a park on the evening of 30 December, while the local population was suffering from a severe water crisis.
This incident has sparked widespread outrage, with citizens questioning the accountability of public representatives during critical health emergencies.
