Rohtak, Haryana: Abhay Singh Chautala, National President of the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD), has once again targeted the Congress party and former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda in a scathing political statement. Speaking at a public rally in Sisaroli village, Chautala declared that if given another chance in the Haryana Assembly, he would metaphorically “make Congress leaders ‘stand like roosters’” by exposing their alleged wrongdoings.
Congress Accused of Enabling BJP Government
Chautala accused the Hooda family of indirectly helping the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) form the government in Haryana once again. Without naming them directly, he criticized Bhupinder Singh Hooda and his son, Deepender Hooda, stating that their actions paved the way for the BJP’s third term in the state. Chautala announced that he would hold monthly programs in villages of the Gadhi Sampala-Kiloi Assembly constituency to expose the father-son duo and their alleged political maneuvers.
He also referred to an INLD protest on 3 November in Rohtak, organized to demand compensation for farmers’ crop losses caused by natural disasters and special relief measures. Chautala personally led this protest and later submitted a memorandum at the local secretariat.
Criticism of Congress Legislators
Chautala further criticized Congress legislators for opposing INLD’s protest efforts. He highlighted an incident involving Congress MLA Gokul Setia from Sirsa, who publicly defended the Deputy Commissioner, Sachin Gupta, during the memorandum submission. Chautala claimed that while BJP officials should have felt challenged, it was the Congress leaders who were actually put on the defensive.
Allegations Against BJP
The INLD chief also accused the BJP of promoting caste and communal politics in Haryana to undermine communal harmony. He alleged that BJP leaders exploited the ongoing Jat reservation movement, assigning former BJP MP Rajkumar Saini to spread caste-based divisiveness across the state, instead of fulfilling government promises.
Chautala’s remarks come amid rising political tensions in Haryana, as parties prepare for the next Assembly elections.
