Gwalior Pilot Sambhavi Pathak Dies in Plane Crash; Last Message to Grandmother Reads “Hi Dadda”

Gwalior: Tragically, 25-year-old pilot Sambhavi Pathak from Gwalior lost her life in a plane crash. Known affectionately as “Chini” by her family, Sambhavi had sent her grandmother a morning greeting just hours before the accident. Her father, a fighter jet pilot, and her late grandfather, who served in the Air Force as ground staff, had inspired her aviation journey.

Beloved “Chini” of the Family
Sambhavi was born in Murar, Gwalior, and spent her early years close to her grandmother, Meera Pathak, who still resides in the city. “We all called her Chini at home,” Meera Pathak shared, her voice tinged with grief. Sambhavi completed her education in Gwalior up to fifth grade before her aviation career took her across the country.

A Family of Aviators
Meera Pathak recalled that Sambhavi’s father serves as a Squadron Leader in the Air Force and has flown MiG-29 fighter jets alongside the Air Chief. Sambhavi herself trained to fly during her stay in Gwalior. Her grandfather, who passed away last year, had also been part of the Air Force as ground staff. “Sambhavi had come back to Gwalior last year for her grandfather’s death anniversary,” said her grandmother.

The Last Message
On the morning of the tragic crash, Sambhavi sent a message to her grandmother saying, “Hi Dadda… Good morning.” Meera Pathak noticed the message on her phone and spoke to her granddaughter shortly before the fatal incident.

Family in Mourning
The heartbreaking news of Sambhavi’s passing was conveyed by her younger brother at around 11 a.m., followed by confirmation from her elder brother. The family is now struggling to come to terms with the loss, with her grandmother preparing to travel to Delhi to cope with the tragedy.

The loss of young Sambhavi has left a profound void in the family, particularly for her grandmother, who shared a special bond with her beloved Chini.
