From Ayodhya, PM Modi Unites the Nation with a Message of Ram’s Ideals

Ayodhya/Patna: In a historic ceremony at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, Prime Minister Narendra Modi hoisted the sacred flag, addressing devotees and the nation with a message of unity, heritage, and values. He emphasized that “All of India, indeed the world, is imbued with the spirit of Ram”, highlighting centuries of devotion, sacrifice, and spiritual fulfillment that have culminated in this landmark moment.

PM Modi described the flag not merely as a symbol, but as the banner of India’s civilizational renaissance, reflecting the glory of the Sun Dynasty, the sacred Om, and the auspicious Covidar tree — symbols of righteousness, duty, and societal harmony. “This flag represents determination, success, the triumph of creation over struggle, and the realization of long-held dreams,” he said.

The Prime Minister connected the event to India’s diverse regions. He referenced Bihar’s Ahilya Sthan in Darbhanga, where Ram’s blessings were sought; the Ram-Sita wedding in Mithila and Janakpur, Nepal, under sage Vishwamitra’s guidance; and Rajasthan, recalling Saint Tulsidas’ journey to propagate Ram devotion. These references reinforced the cultural and spiritual unity spanning Bihar, Jharkhand, Rajasthan, and beyond.

PM Modi also highlighted Ayodhya’s role as a source of values and collective power. He urged citizens to draw inspiration from Ram’s ideals of truth, courage, humility, and social responsibility, asserting that these values must guide India’s path toward becoming a developed nation by 2047, the centenary of independence.

Emphasizing the connection between tradition and modernity, the Prime Minister spoke of seven temples within the Ram Temple complex, including those of Mother Shabari, Nishadraj, Maharshi Valmiki, Vashishtha, Vishwamitra, Agastya, and Saint Tulsidas, symbolizing faith, friendship, duty, and devotion. Visitors, he said, should experience the spiritual and moral lessons these sites impart.

PM Modi further addressed India’s historical struggle against the colonial mindset instilled by Lord Macaulay in 1835, calling for the nation’s mental liberation from lingering colonial influence. He cited examples from Tamil Nadu’s ancient democratic inscriptions and India’s naval flags, emphasizing how India is reclaiming its civilizational symbols and self-confidence.

He concluded by reiterating that Ram is more than a figure; he embodies values, ideals, and direction. To realize the dream of a developed India by 2047, the nation must awaken the ‘Ram within’ every citizen — a call to action for truth, duty, courage, and social harmony for centuries to come.
