Four Hindutva Leaders on Terror Hit List in Lucknow; Kamlesh Tiwari Murder Case Back in Spotlight

Edited By: Vaibhav Pandey | 15 Nov 2025

Lucknow: After recent arrests in the Delhi car blast and Faridabad terror module, security agencies have sounded an alert for several prominent Hindutva leaders in Lucknow. Intelligence officials have reportedly contacted these leaders and reviewed details of their security arrangements.
According to sources, four leaders, including late Hindu Samaj Party president Kamlesh Tiwari’s wife Kiran Tiwari and Hindu Mahasabha spokesperson Shishir Chaturvedi, have been advised to remain vigilant.

The alert comes days after police arrested several terror suspects — including Dr. Shaheen Saeed and her brother Dr. Parvez Ahmed Ansari from Faridabad — in connection with the recent blast near Delhi’s Red Fort. Gujarat ATS also detained three suspects, two of whom are believed to be from Uttar Pradesh. During interrogation, the accused revealed that they had recently conducted reconnaissance in Lucknow, prompting heightened security measures.

Four Names on the Hit List: Kiran Tiwari, Shishir Chaturvedi, Gopal Rai & Sadhvi Deva Giri

Hindu Mahasabha spokesperson Shishir Chaturvedi claimed that the arrested doctors named four Hindutva leaders they planned to target:

  • Kiran Tiwari (wife of slain leader Kamlesh Tiwari)
  • Shishir Chaturvedi
  • Gopal Rai
  • Sadhvi Deva Giri

Chaturvedi said, “We four were on the terrorists’ hit list. The government has informed us to remain alert.”

Demand for Y-Plus Security Intensifies

Chaturvedi added that the state administration contacted him, confirming his name on the target list.
He said, “We have been repeatedly demanding Y-Plus security. We are active stakeholders in sensitive issues like Ayodhya, Kashi, Mathura, and Laxman Teela. Despite this, our security has been ignored. Now that the terrorists themselves have confessed, the UP government must act.”

Kamlesh Tiwari Murder: A Chilling Reminder

The developments have brought renewed attention to the brutal 2019 murder of Kamlesh Tiwari in Lucknow.
On 18 October 2019, two assailants wearing saffron kurtas visited his home with a sweets box containing a pistol and knife.
They spoke with him for nearly half an hour, then sent his domestic worker out to buy items from a shop. When the worker returned, Tiwari was found lying in a pool of blood, having been attacked repeatedly with a knife.
He was rushed to the hospital, where doctors declared him dead.

Since then, Kiran Tiwari has been pursuing the case relentlessly in court, seeking justice for her husband.
