
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has lauded the Union Budget 2026-27, describing it as a development-oriented and inclusive blueprint that will create new opportunities for all sections of society.
CM Dhami congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for presenting a budget that emphasizes the welfare of farmers, women, marginalized communities, youth, small entrepreneurs, and backward classes. He said the budget focuses on accelerating economic growth, fulfilling public aspirations, and ensuring “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas” (collective progress for all).
The Chief Minister highlighted that the budget makes significant provisions for employment, education, healthcare, tourism, skill development, women’s empowerment, industry, and infrastructure. He emphasized that these measures would benefit not only the entire country but also Uttarakhand, generating new employment opportunities for the state’s youth.
Focus on Tourism and Mountain Development:
The budget includes plans to develop eco-friendly mountain trails in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Jammu & Kashmir. For Uttarakhand, special attention has been given to tourism and infrastructure, key drivers of sustainable growth.
CM Dhami noted that provisions for agriculture, animal husbandry, high-value farming, tourism, and MSMEs will strengthen the state’s rural and hilly economy. Investments in environmental sustainability, energy security, digital technology, and the biopharma sector will ensure long-term benefits for both the state and the nation.
He added that the Uttarakhand government will work closely with the central government to effectively implement the schemes and provisions announced in the budget. CM Dhami concluded that this budget aligns with the vision of a self-reliant India and will ensure equitable growth opportunities for mountainous states like Uttarakhand.
