In a dramatic breakthrough, Udaipur Police has exposed a shocking robbery conspiracy in which a domestic maid—trusted for five years—plotted to loot her employer’s house. The plan failed after the elderly woman of the house showed remarkable courage, forcing the attackers to flee and leading to the arrest of the gang.
Maid’s Plot Exposed After CCTV Investigation
The sensational case involved an attempted strangulation and robbery at the home of the Golchha family. What initially appeared to be an attack by unknown masked assailants turned out to be a meticulously planned inside job led by the maid, Rekha, who had been working with the family for the past five years.
A team from the Pratapnagar Police Station examined over 200 CCTV footage clips, which ultimately unravelled the conspiracy. Police arrested Rekha, her brother’s girlfriend Ritika Vig, and their associate Pradeep alias Prekshu Pardeshi. Two others—Rekha’s brother Kamlesh and his accomplice Lokesh—are on the run.
Trusted Maid Turns Enemy Within
According to police, Rekha had gained deep knowledge of the household—its layout, valuables, daily routines, and security patterns. She used this familiarity to execute her plan, roping in her brother Kamlesh, his girlfriend Ritika, and two others to carry out the burglary.
12 November: Night of the Attack
On the night of 12 November, Kamlesh and Lokesh entered the house wearing masks, while Pradeep waited outside on a bike. Ritika kept watch at the corner of the street. Inside the house at the time was only the elderly mother of Mitesh Golchha.
The intruders attacked her, attempting to strangle her so they could break open the almirah and steal cash and jewellery without resistance. But the courageous woman screamed for help, alerting neighbours. Panicking, the attackers fled the spot immediately.
CCTV Footage Unravels the Truth
Footage captured one of the assailants, who was soon identified as Kamlesh, a man with a prior criminal record. The link between him and the maid Rekha exposed the inside conspiracy. Initially, Rekha tried to mislead the police, but technical evidence cornered her. During interrogation, Pradeep confessed to the entire plan.

The incident has sparked widespread discussion in Udaipur about the dangers of misplaced trust in domestic help. Police revealed that Rekha was the one who informed the gang that the house would be empty that night. A manhunt has been launched to nab the two absconding accused.
