Basking in the success of a remarkable electoral performance, Union Minister and Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) chief Chirag Paswan has announced a statewide “Thank You Yatra” in Bihar. Alongside this outreach campaign, Chirag has activated a strategic move that could significantly reshape political equations within the Paswan family — the revival of the Dalit Sena, a grassroots force once created by his father, the late Ram Vilas Paswan.
Chirag Set to Take Back the ‘Big Army’ From Uncle Paras
During the split within the LJP, the Dalit Sena, originally built as a field-level support base for the party’s vote bank, remained under the control of Pashupati Kumar Paras.
Now, after the LJP (Ram Vilas) swept 19 of the 29 NDA seats allotted to it in Bihar, Chirag has decided to reclaim and reorganize this “big army.”
He announced that the Dalit Sena would be restructured and re-energized under the leadership of Jamui MP Arun Bharti, who is also Chirag’s brother-in-law. The revival is widely seen as an attempt to consolidate the party’s traditional support base and diminish Paras’s influence.
Plan No. 2 Activated: Expansion Beyond Bihar
Confident after his party’s impressive performance, Chirag Paswan has now shifted focus to the next phase of his political vision.
He said the LJP (Ram Vilas) will expand its organizational footprint beyond Bihar into West Bengal, Punjab, and Uttar Pradesh, and will contest future elections as an NDA ally in these states.
Chirag said with a laugh,
“We won 19 out of the 29 seats we contested because of the people’s blessings and the support of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. We have two ministerial berths in Bihar. I am satisfied — it’s not in my nature to be greedy.”
Two Key Ministries for Chirag’s Party in Bihar
The newly formed NDA government has allocated two portfolios to LJP (Ram Vilas):
- Sanjay Kumar Paswan — Sugarcane Industries
- Sanjay Singh (Mahua MLA) — PHED (Public Health Engineering Department)
Sanjay Singh became a key highlight of the elections after defeating Tej Pratap Yadav, the elder son of RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav and leader of Jan Shakti Janata Dal.
Chirag took a sharp swipe at the RJD and Congress, saying they are blaming SIR/“stolen votes” instead of analysing why the public has repeatedly rejected them since 2005.
He remarked,
“If they continue making excuses, even Lalu Ji’s third generation will never come to power. Their mindset is the reason for their downfall.”
How Chirag Built Success Over Five Years
Explaining the surge in his party’s support, Chirag said the LJP (Ram Vilas) spent the last five years strengthening its organization across all districts of Bihar.
He noted that the party’s vote share has risen significantly:
- Contested: 29 seats
- Vote share: 5%
Chirag said this growth reflects “consistent hard work” and the party’s increasing acceptance among voters.
