Celebration in Hapur Turns Costly: Air Force Personnel Rides on Car Roof, Owner Fined ₹28,000

Hapur, Uttar Pradesh: A welcome celebration for an Air Force personnel in Hapur’s Bahadurgarh area took an unexpected turn when a small village festivity turned into a road safety violation, resulting in a hefty fine for the car owner.

The Viral Video

On Thursday afternoon, a video went viral on social media showing a car adorned with a Samajwadi Party flag and the Indian tricolor. Sitting on the roof of the car was a young man dressed in Air Force uniform, recently returned home after six months of training and duty. Additional youths were seen hanging from the sides of the vehicle, giving the impression of a lively road show rather than a personal celebration.

Traffic Violations Ignored

The video captured several serious violations of traffic rules, including:

  • Driving without a seatbelt
  • Riding on the car roof
  • Hanging from car doors on both sides
  • Conducting a roadside procession contrary to road safety norms

While the village celebrated the return of the serviceman, the reckless display caught the attention of authorities.

Police Action and Fine

Hapur Police acted promptly after the video surfaced. Station Officer Dheeraj Malik and his team verified the vehicle’s number plate to identify the owner. Under multiple traffic violation provisions, a fine of ₹28,000 was issued.

The police emphasized that road safety rules apply equally to all citizens, regardless of whether they are common citizens or uniformed personnel. Any breach of traffic regulations will be dealt with strictly and without exception.
