Raipur, Chhattisgarh: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnudeo Sai praised the Union Budget 2026-27 presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in Parliament on Sunday, calling it a historic document aimed at India’s golden and developed future. According to CM Sai, the budget will provide direct benefits to states like Chhattisgarh and foster inclusive growth across the country.
The budget emphasizes three key objectives: accelerating economic growth and employment, meeting the expectations of the public, and ensuring the principle of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas” (Collective Effort, Inclusive Growth).
Boost to Farmers’ Income
CM Sai highlighted that the budget includes several measures to increase farmers’ income and strengthen the rural economy. Initiatives include improving agricultural productivity through AI and modern technology, promoting livestock and dairy industries, and creating employment opportunities by supporting local crafts and industries under the Mahatma Gandhi Gram Swaraj scheme.
Employment Opportunities for Youth
The budget places special emphasis on job creation for young people. Startups, MSMEs, manufacturing, and tourism sectors are expected to generate new employment. Promoting tourism will enhance local economic development and enable youth to find work in their own regions. International travel and overseas education are also expected to become more affordable.
Healthcare and State Development
A provision of ₹10,000 crore has been made for the biopharma sector, which will make medicines for cancer, diabetes, and other serious diseases more affordable. Plans include upgrading district hospitals, establishing emergency and trauma centers in every district, promoting mental health and Ayurvedic medicine, and setting up five regional hubs for medical tourism. CM Sai stated that these measures will improve healthcare services in Chhattisgarh and across India while generating new employment opportunities.
Women’s Empowerment and Education
Through the expansion of the “Lakhpati Didi” scheme, women will gain access to credit-linked self-employment, entrepreneurship opportunities, and local markets. Construction of hostels for girls in every district will support higher education. Additionally, the budget focuses on promoting industry, education, and sports.
Infrastructure and Industrial Development
The budget announces seven high-speed rail corridors, 20 new waterways, major textile parks, and mineral corridors across four states to strengthen India’s economy. A ₹40,000 crore investment under the Semiconductor Mission is expected to boost industrial growth and employment. Sports and education reforms under initiatives like the “Khelo India Mission” will provide better opportunities for children and youth.
Simplified Taxation and Relief for Citizens
CM Sai also noted that income tax procedures will be simplified, particularly benefiting small taxpayers. Everyday items such as medicines, clothing, footwear, mobile phones, EV batteries, solar equipment, and biogas-CNG products will become more affordable, providing direct relief to the public.
CM Sai concluded that the Union Budget 2026-27 reinforces the principles of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Prayas, Sabka Vishwas” and will ensure inclusive growth for Chhattisgarh and the entire nation.
