‘Book a Call with BLO’: Election Commission Introduces New Facility for Voters in Uttar Pradesh

Lucknow: The Election Commission of India (ECI) has introduced a new facility to make voter services more accessible in Uttar Pradesh. As part of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) campaign of the electoral rolls, voters can now ‘Book a Call with their Booth Level Officer (BLO)’ to seek guidance or assistance regarding the voter list.

The ECI, in a statement issued on Friday, said that the window to file objections and claims will remain open until 6 February 2026. During this period, voters who need assistance with the draft electoral roll can schedule an appointment directly with their BLO.

How the Facility Works

The ‘Book-a-Call with BLO’ service allows voters to directly connect with their Booth Level Officer via a scheduled phone call. This service is particularly useful for resolving issues related to the SIR draft voter list, which has seen a large number of names removed following the review process. The initiative aims to provide timely guidance and support to genuine voters and ensure that no eligible voter is left unassisted.

How Voters Can Use the Service

  1. Access the Portal or App: Voters can log in using their mobile number on the official ECI portal https://voters.eci.gov.in or through the Voter Helpline app.
  2. Sign Up if Unregistered: If the mobile number is not registered, voters must first complete the sign-up process to link their number with the portal.
  3. Book a Call: After registration, voters can enter their EPIC number or provide details such as state, district, assembly constituency, and booth number to schedule a call with the BLO.
  4. Response Time: The assigned BLO will contact the voter within 48 hours of the request.

This new facility ensures greater transparency, accessibility, and convenience for voters, allowing them to resolve electoral roll-related issues without visiting the BLO office in person.
