Shivpuri, Jan 30, 2026: A heated confrontation erupted in Shivpuri, Madhya Pradesh, when a police constable stopped BJP MLA Ramesh Khatik’s brother, Bhagya Chandra Khatik, for riding a bike without a helmet. The incident, which took place near Narwar Police Station, has gone viral on social media.
According to reports, during a routine vehicle check, the constable asked Khatik to follow traffic rules. In response, he allegedly threatened the police, saying, “You will bring the bike home.” The constable, refusing to be intimidated, retorted, “Should I take off my uniform right here?”
The clash escalated when the constable removed the bike keys to prevent further violation, prompting Khatik to step down and confront the officer. The keys were later thrown into the police station campus to avoid further escalation, but the tension continued.
Eyewitnesses reported that both sides exchanged heated words, with the MLA’s brother reportedly attempting to leverage his influence to intimidate the police. Despite this, the constables remained firm, upholding traffic regulations.
The video of the confrontation has since gone viral, sparking discussions on social media about law enforcement, VIP influence, and adherence to traffic rules. Neither Bhagya Chandra Khatik nor the MLA has issued an official statement regarding the incident.
