BJP MLA Scolds District Secretary Over Phone in Haryana, Audio Goes Viral

Palwal, Haryana: Internal BJP disputes in Hodal have intensified after a heated phone conversation between BJP MLA Harendra Singh and the district secretary went viral on social media. The incident raises serious questions about party organization and event management.

The controversy erupted over a “Good Governance Day” program held on 25 December in Hodal to commemorate former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s birthday. The program was organized without informing the MLA or mentioning his name in the official communication. When the district secretary called to invite him, MLA Harendra Singh reportedly lost his temper and berated the official over the phone.

MLA’s Statement
During the conversation, the MLA reportedly said, “Your district president is not so powerful that he cannot even call an MLA. You and your president can fall into a well—I will handle my party myself. I have been nurturing the party for 11 years. Stay quiet for four days, and you will understand. Tell the district president that I am a different kind of MLA.”

Demand for Action
MLA Singh has condemned the leak of the audio recording, calling it a violation of his privacy, and has stated that legal action will be initiated against district secretary Jayram Prajapati for recording and sharing the call without consent. The MLA further accused local party leaders of giving the program to a leader who had previously contested against him with the Congress, calling it “dirty politics” which he will oppose.

Attempts to contact district president Vipin Bainsla and secretary Jayram Prajapati for their comments were unsuccessful. Messages sent to them also remained unanswered.

This incident has highlighted growing tensions within the party’s local unit and the challenges of managing intra-party communication and protocol.
