BJP Expels Former Union Minister RK Singh and Two Other Leaders After Bihar Election Victory

Patna: Soon after its sweeping victory in the Bihar Assembly elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has taken swift disciplinary action against three leaders, including former Union Minister RK Singh. The party has suspended him for six years over alleged anti-party activities. Along with him, Katihar Mayor Usha Agarwal and MLC Ashok Agarwal have also been shown the door.

Three Leaders Removed for “Anti-Party Activities”

In its official order, the BJP stated,
“Your activities are against the party and fall under serious indiscipline. This has caused harm to the organisation. Therefore, you are being suspended and issued a show-cause notice asking why you should not be permanently expelled. You must respond within one week of receiving this letter.”

The action marks the first major disciplinary step by the party after the election results.

BJP Acts Against Rebels Soon After Poll Win

RK Singh had openly rebelled against the party during the election campaign. He frequently criticised BJP leaders and accused some of them of corruption. His statements were seen as damaging to the NDA’s image during a crucial election phase.

He also backed the allegations made by Jan Suraaj Party chief Prashant Kishor against senior NDA leaders, further straining his relationship with the BJP leadership.

What RK Singh Had Said

During a public meeting in September, the former Union Minister triggered controversy by stating:

“I have served as Bihar’s Home Secretary. I know everyone’s record. If anyone tries to act smart, I will expose everything. People of Bihar will not tolerate corrupt leaders. Corrupt and characterless politicians are a burden on this earth.”

RK Singh was also vocal against the Bihar government and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. He repeatedly advocated for the removal of the liquor ban in the state, calling it ineffective and damaging.
