Bihar Panchayat Elections 2026: New Reservation Roster and Strict Measures to Ensure Fair Polls, Minister Deepak Prakash Announces

Aurangabad, Bihar: Ahead of the upcoming Bihar Panchayat Elections 2026, the state government has announced major reforms aimed at making the polls transparent, fair, and free from malpractice. Panchayati Raj Minister Deepak Prakash provided detailed updates at a press conference in Aurangabad.

Strict Measures Against Bogus Voting
Minister Prakash stated that the elections would employ advanced technology to completely prevent bogus voting and multiple voting attempts. Special cameras and monitoring systems will be used during the polling process to immediately detect and stop any voter trying to cast multiple votes.

“The new technology will ensure that no individual can vote more than once, effectively eliminating the possibility of double voting,” the minister said. He also added that the measures would help maintain law and order and curb potential violence during the elections.

New Reservation Roster for Panchayat Seats
The minister further announced that a new reservation roster will be implemented in this election, ensuring representation for all eligible communities according to the rules. “Our goal is to conduct the Panchayat elections in a peaceful and transparent manner, reinforcing public confidence in the democratic process,” he added.

The Panchayati Raj Department has already begun taking necessary steps to ensure smooth preparations for the elections across the state.
