Patna: The NDA government in Bihar, led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, has taken a major step toward fulfilling its electoral promise of providing employment to one crore youth over the next five years. With a focus on boosting jobs in the IT and service sectors, the state government has now approved a landmark initiative aimed at attracting global companies while creating local employment opportunities.
Bihar Global Capability Center (GCC) Policy 2026 Approved
In a cabinet meeting chaired by Nitish Kumar on Thursday, the “Bihar Global Capability Center (GCC) Policy 2026” received official approval. Under this policy, national and international companies establishing call centers or global capability centers in Bihar will receive financial assistance from the state government. The objective is to provide meaningful employment to local youth, reducing the need for them to migrate to other states in search of work.
Government to Cover 30% of Capital Expenditure
According to Kundan Kumar, Secretary of the Department of Industries, this historic policy is designed to encourage investment and generate employment in the state. Under the new scheme, if a global company sets up its call center or capability center in Bihar, the government will provide a grant covering 30% of the company’s total capital expenditure, with a maximum limit of ₹50 crore. The grant amount can be increased further if the company employs a larger proportion of Bihar residents.
The financial assistance is not limited to infrastructure alone; companies will also receive support for office rent, research and development, and other operational expenses. The policy is expected to create significant employment opportunities for Bihar’s youth while attracting major global and national investments to the state.
